A1 Reading: Simple Present Tense

Leo is a young student. He lives in a small apartment in London. Leo gets up early every day at seven o’clock. He eats a quick breakfast and then walks to college. He studies art because he loves drawing and painting. His classes start at nine and finish at one.

Leo doesn't work in the afternoon. He goes to the park and meets his friends. They don't play sports, but they talk and listen to music. Sometimes, Leo reads a book. In the evening, he watches movies on his laptop. He doesn't cook dinner; he buys a sandwich. Does Leo like his routine? Yes, he does! He thinks his life is simple and fun. Where does he live? He lives in London.

The Sanchez family lives in Madrid, Spain. Mr. and Mrs. Sanchez have two children, Sofia and Marco. They don't work on Saturday. They stay at home. In the morning, Mr. Sanchez cleans the apartment, and Mrs. Sanchez cooks a big lunch. The children play video games. They do not help with the chores! In the afternoon, the whole family visits a museum.

Our school library is a quiet place. It opens at 8 a.m. and closes at 4 p.m. every weekday. We have many books and computers. The librarian, Ms. Chen, is very helpful. She always smiles and talks quietly.

Students must follow rules in the library. You do not eat food here. You do not talk loudly. When you take a book, you write your name. You return the book after two weeks. Does everyone follow the rules? Yes, they do. The library is a good place to study.
